Musicians and instrument makers wanted

Hi all, we’re hosting an open mic night on December 12th
I’d love to show off maker skills, so if you make instruments, music, or related things, let me know if you can be there!

I will plan on being there, for sure.

Also, can I talk with you via email, and/or in person this weekend, re my idea about getting an instrument-maker group going? I’d like to aim for a first meeting in January. I’ll talk with Brian and others about this–all input and ideas welcome at this point. This event looks promising–and fun–for sure.

If you can get that on the calendar, I will try to publicize it thru the website.

I’ve made many instruments. I will bring a few.

I can help get this group scheduled, on the website, and advertised on socials and such. Give me a date and a short description and I’ll make it happen!

The open mic night is December 12, 6:30-9pm

The times aren’t 100% set in stone, so if delaying it to have some maker music thing before it starts is helpful…
Lemme know

We will be doing punk patches during the evening as well

@userdr and @cafwood, could the instrument-maker group start around 5:30pm on the 12th?

Hi there, I am LynnH/ColorJoy. I just joined this group tonight.

I am a professional musician. I am not an instrument maker, but my Acoustic upright Heftone Bass was invented and built by my Late father-in-law. I suspect there might be some interest in checking out my instrument. I think Lex might have heard us perform before?

I usually sing Love songs from the 1920s with my husband Brian Hefferan, but I’ve been known to sing a cappella solo. A bass player who sings is not a full act, LOL.

That’s fine with me, tho in general terms it seems like 6:30 would be better for most people–? I notice the brewers group next meeting is at 7–could be better then to avoid dinner hour. Is there some sort of “official” announcement for this event (describing it) that I could share with my contacts?

Also, for your info, James Etherton., a member, is interested in the instrument-maker thing. I hope I got his last name correct. Not sure how to find him on this forum to message him myself.

Let’s start at 6:30 then!
I’ll think out loud with Lex and Jillian soon

Really looking forward to this thing!
