I got a knitting machine and it can’t use cakes, it has to have cones to keep the tension consistent. I tried winding a cone by hand today and it was terrible and didn’t fix the tension problem because my winding pattern was inconsistent.
Cone winders are super expensive, I found out it’s mostly because they have a lot of complicated math involved on the winding roller.
I found 3d files for printing one, but it would take a long time to print, and has 3d printing techniques I don’t understand.
The tube doesn’t have a lot of pressure on it, it just guides the yarn onto the cone. Does anyone have any ideas how I could make it?
