A friend of mine has a turn of the 20th-century house where some of the porch column bases have rotted. My plan is to turn new solid wood bases to replace the rotten ones. I measured the clearance on the shops lathe and I think they will work.
I have some experience turning things like tool handles, but not so much with something like this.
