Carl saved the day! He got v-carve 12.0 (the new update) up and running on at least 2 of the machines.

Carl, if you happen to see this, I was able to launch at home as we expected, though with the trial version I’m unable to import the online tool database we were working on.

It looks like the 1st station design computer (the one on the left) has given up the ghost. I see someone is trying to get another computer working for that station but I can’t get it to install v-carve. An admin password is needed.

As a solution, I set up V-Carve v12 on the last machine by the window. It downloaded the tool settings from the cloud and is logged in and ready to use. I hope… I haven’t used V-Carve in a while.

Update 6/5/25: VCarve is still not working on the left (not installed) and middle (error opening file) computers in the design lab. I didn’t try to open VCarve on the computer on the far right.

Thank you, I’m still trying to troubleshoot, and I’m struggling. @RealCarlRaymond if you have ideas, please lemme know

Hey Randy!

VCarve is functioning on the computer on the far right.

@Evelyn Jody was able to update the computer on the right, per his post just above Randy’s, but an admin password is needed to finish setup on one of the other machines.

Thanks @John !!

@RealCarlRaymond who has the admin access on the design lab computers?

I’m not able to make any progress on this. The leftmost computer is foreign to LMN. I don’t know where it came from, and nobody has the administrative password to add or remove software. Accounts on it are named “The Galleon” and PIN, which isn’t familiar to me.

The other two computers are still having the same Vectric login problem. Start Vectric and click “log in” and it opens a browser window at portal.vectric.com, I log in successfully, and nothing happens after that.
One computer has V11, and the other has V12.

@Evelyn was there any response from Vectric support on the issue? I’m flummoxed.

Update: I made some progress. The rightmost computer has version 12, and the middle had 11. I installed 12 there, and now I can open it on both.

The process is double-click the VCarve Pro 12 icon, and a dialog will open titled “VCarve Pro Makerspace Edition - Login or Register”. Select Registered Member, and click Next. Then there’s a field for a license key, but instead click “Login with Browser”. This opens a browser tab at Vectric for logging in. Enter your username and password, and then click “Grant Access”.

You may need to manually switch back to the VCarve dialog, but now it will say “Congratulations! You are now logged into VCarve Pro Makerspace Edition.” Click Finish, and the full program opens.

This works on the middle and right computers.

I’m speculating, but maybe now that we’re on version 12, the old version 11 doesn’t want to open. But I don’t know.

I don’t know about the tool database – I’ll have to dig into that a little more, but the program opens now, so that’s progress.
