Wasn’t sure how to tag this. What’s the policy on using personal tools in the space? Is there a liability issue? Say I brought in my own jig saw or nail gun to use on a project. Is that ok? Not sure who I should tag to ask. @Jimmy maybe?
This may depend on the area you are using. Since it sounds like a wood shop area, perhaps @cafwood would be the best person.

A qualified yes. You may bring in a tool we don’t have and use it, but it would be best to clear the specific tool with the area manager. If it’s a power tool, only you may use it. Anybody else in the area must be safe (like in the case of a misdirected nail). Also, there are some procedures we just don’t allow or want to encourage–fractal burning, for instance.
