Upcoming event July 28-30: MICHIGAN STEAM ENGINE & THRESHERS CLUB, feat. Flea Market

Vic let me know about this show, which may be interesting to some of us. There’s a large flea market there, and I’ll be going to check it out.

I’ve been to this event many times, and it’s a good time. Be aware, however, that in order to get to the flea market, you need to go in the main entrance, and pay the admission fee. I think it’s in the range of $10-15. That’s not horrendous, and you get to see some steam-powered pre-Cambrian-era traction engines, plus lots of other antique coal, gas, oil, and wood-fired machinery. There are tractor pulls, a shingle mill, a lumber mill, fantastic ice cream, and more. It’s a good way to spend a couple of hours.

Oh - and elephant ears! Need I say more?
