I’m reaching out to set up a training session for 3D printing. I’m working on a shoe prototype project that requires printing with TPU filament (95A Shore hardness), and I’m hoping to get a session in starting 6/18.
A couple of quick questions ahead of the training:
• Do you have a direct drive FDM printer available? TPU tends to need that for reliable extrusion.
• Do you allow members to bring their own TPU filament, or do you provide it?
I’m flexible on timing and can come in any day after 6/18. Please let me know what training slots you have available and what I need to do to get set up.
Thank you!
Hello, Sherri! @leif_swanson is the person to speak to & answer your questions.
Howdy schzade,
I will be available on 6/18 for this training and we have two direct drive FDM printers. We sadly do not have any TPU available and you can absolutely bring your own. What time should we meet?
Best Regards
Leif Swanson
Thank you! Can you please remind what times you are available? I should be free all times. I already have my own filament that I will be bringing.
Sherri
Howdy sherri,
I will be available for all of open hours, 4pm to 9pm. We could meet when the building opens if that works for you.
Best regards
Leif Swanson
I’ll see you at 4.
Hi,
I have a print that will likely take 8+hours. I have it on the slicer now, so you can help me get it started. I’ll see you at 12n.
I will be there.
Best Regards

Hi Lief:
I’m back in CA. I so appreciate your help and support with my prototyping work. My partner and I were able to make some informed decisions based on our work there in the maker lab. If you are interested, as we reach milestones and when we get some pictures I can sent them your way.
Thanks again,
Sherri
I would be delighted to see your progress!
Best regards
