Hi,
Several of the machines in textiles have been out of order for a while so I thought I’d give progress updates.
There is a status board on the wall behind the quilting machine, if you have any issues please post on the talksite or message me, and write it on the board with the date if possible.
First, the fur overseam machine is working and ready for checkouts, it’s a very quick checkout and I’d be excited for someone to use it.
The rug tufting gun is down, the scissors stopped cutting. New scissors were ordered but they were the wrong size. Shipping for the scissors takes quite a while but the fix is straightforward after that.
The industrial sewing machine is down, I cannot figure out what needles it needs or what exactly is going on, the manual with it is for a different brand machine. If anyone else would like to put some research towards that, message me and I can tell you what I’ve been through so far.
The serger is fully functioning but is frequently unthreaded, and is very difficult to set back up if you don’t know how. I would like to have some kind of indicator that can be flipped over so I know when it needs attention and it can be ready to use more frequently. If that works out I might add them to all the machines.
If anyone has ideas for a simple design that will be noticeable but not obtrusive let me know
Other miscellaneous projects, there are all the parts to make large tabletop ironing boards but they turned into mental furniture for me. And each machine has its own box now which will have the attachments, information, and if the machine requires special needles or bobbins they will be stored in there.
A few pieces of new equipment will be coming to textiles soon so you can look forward to that!
