Here are some links to public domain images I’ve gathered, all glass related to celebrate our new glassworks department.
Public domain images can be used for anything with no restrictions, including for commercial use.
Also, a bit of history, stained glass did originally only refer to glass that had been stained with silver to give it a specific color, and gradually changed in meaning to soldered copper foil. I’ve tried to curate a good mix of pretty images with painting and staining, and diagrams that can be used for our stained glass station.
If you have any suggestions on how I could organize these roundups better let me know because this one got a bit unwieldy.
-a catalog with very pretty black and white drawings of church windows
- color illustrations of church windows
-an article with engravings of a knight and some other stained glass
-a catalog for windowpanes and decorative sand blasting, very nice clean line images and patterns
-catalog, some very thick lined arch designs that would work well in the laser cutter
-leaded color glass designs that can be traced for making stained glass it would be nice backgrounds for digital art
-catalog with all the pictures of glass jars and bottles you could ever need
-a book of glass experiments for young boys. Has some pretty entertaining and simple things that can be made with lamp work.
-simple clear and colored designs for window panels that can be easily traced.
-really good catalog with detailed line drawing for windows and book cases, as well as an exit sign. And designs for painted panels. I think this one is the best quality I found.
-absolutely beautiful color illustrations. Many are bookmark shaped, if you wanted a quick craft with the sublimation printer and some wide ribbon. Or could be a bracelet.
-lots of words that seem interesting and historically relevant, which I have not read yet, interspersed with diagrams for some pretty unique stained glass layouts.
-some very simple designs, one page with cute fish and other little things
-and finally, a book of nice illustrations of all kinds of things that you can look through. If you only read one thing or don’t care about glass at all this one is good.
