I’d like to use the polishing Lathe to finish a wood pipe with carnauba wax. I can buy my own wheel if we don’t have one that is used with carnauba wax, but I don’t normally see anyone in Jewelry when I’m in and the sign on the polishes say ask anyone for help. Sooo do you happen to know if we have a carnauba wax wheel/could I use it with my wood or should I bring my own? And, is there anything special I should know before using it?

We don’t have any wheels that have carnauba wax. You’ll have to get your own wheel. If you’re looking locally, try to find something with a small arbor hole. The usual 1/2" arbor hole is too big for our machines. Something like this would do:

You could also pull out the stitching if you’re looking for a light even polish over a rounded surface.

Johnson’s Workbench in Charlotte may be a good place to look for carnauba wax.

Whoops. Things got cancelled and now Macie wants to work at the space tonight. I’ll be there 9-9:30 this evening.
