Details of ISSUE or REQUEST (Please be as specific as possible):
The threaded shaft that holds the sand paper tubes in place appears to be stripped.

Please remember that VOLUNTEERS will be helping to resolve this issue. While everyone works very hard to fix things quickly, sometimes things take time. Please consider Volunteering to help keep everything working well in our makerspace!

Looked at it today, tried chasing the thread and it is too far gone. Found replacement part online will recommend it be purchased and replaced. Until then recommend not using the sander.

@cafwood Just tagging you for awareness

Is there a reason we cant chuck it in a lathe and turn the threaded part down to fresh steel and just tap it for a smaller nut?

We could make a new one, depending on how complex it is. Does anyone have a link to a good picture of it?

See link for the wen part:

The sander has been repaired, the threads were chased enough to get it to work. If they strip again we will look into alternate options.
