MIG, TIG and Stick welding check-out

Hi,
I there anybody currently checking out new members on welding equipment? I’m guessing there’s specific check-out required for Oxy-Ace torch cutting as well.

Hi Scott and Mike,

I would be happy to check you out on the stick and both the flux-core MIG and the traditional MIG welders. My schedule is pretty flexible, when works best for the both of you?

We no longer TIG welder as it died and we haven’t had the chance to get it replaced.

Unfortunately the welding area supervisor moved away and I haven’t had the chance to re-familiarize myself with oxy-acetylene welding or cutting. It’s been over 10 years since I did that myself and personally do not feel comfortable doing a checkout on it at this time (I can set the gas and light it, but that’s about it).

If another member who has greater knowledge with oxy-acetylene I would be happy to discuss a possibility for checkouts sooner.

Hey John. I’d be happy to sit down with you and we could put together an SOP for the oxy/acet. I use it often in my other shop including the cutter. No expert but certainly know safety. I could possibly take a look at the tig welder. repaired a couple in my time. also did you see we have new sanding belts.

i’ll be in the shop on saturday about 1pm to about 4. if you can’t make it let me know and lets set up some time to talk.

James that sounds awesome! Thank you, I think creating an SOP would be the best way forward. I should be in Saturday if you wanted to plan a later time then.

Sorry I seemed to have missed this message. Can we do next week Thursday after 4? I would like to put my hands on some welding rods before the day of, just to make sure everything is in order

My Saturday afternoon is still up in the air. Trying to organize a fund raiser for my son’s Solar Race Car Club. Should know if that’s going to happen by tomorrow afternoon. Will keep you both updated.

Thursday the 14th is great! I’ll go at 4, and can work on some wood projects until you show up. Or, if you’re there at 4 we can just start.

@Jcard1415 I will have a bit of time after the Hackathon tomorrow and would be interested in a checkout in the welding area if you are able to do that. It is short notice and understand if you cannot.
