Mid-Michigan Woodworkers guild / Hand tool sharpening

I met Tom Dowling of Mid-Michigan Woodworkers Guild at an Estate sale earlier today (as I was rummaging for old wood tools) and we got talking and he said that the guild meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month and that they can go over the basics of hand wood tool sharpening the next time they meet.

Thats the 19th of November @ 206 W. Washington St., Dewitt MI, 7-9pm.

I plan on going and he asked to bring chisels or whatever else. “visitors welcome”.
So this is just an FYI, in case anyone else is interested!!

I am in the process of setting up a sharpening station. I hope to have something ready in the next couple of weeks.

Hi,

Thank you for setting up the sharpening station. I was wondering if you could show me the basics of using both the grinder and the other machine I saw.
I’ve got my thesis defense on the 5th of December and I’m out till the 11th after that. Anytime between 12th December and 31st would work best.
