TNS has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer looking for a diverse and challenging opportunity to expand their skill set. In this role, you will function as a Lead Systems Engineer, mentoring a small team of technicians and accelerating the development of embedded systems and implementing key products in TNS’ Payments Portfolio!
JOB FUNCTIONS :

Systems level responsibility for hardware, operating systems, applications software and support utilities of TNS equipment consisting of custom, single board computer and PC systems

Provide engineer level expertise and support and system level testing for many of the Customer Point-of-Sale produces, routers and management systems. These products include Cisco, Linux, OpenWRT and other embedded technologies

Perform automated and manual Linux and Cisco router configurations and aid in order fulfillment in support of TNS Point of Sale, Dial & IP-Based initiatives

Coordinate between 1st Level Support, Development, Operations and Customer Technicians to resolve complex technical issues solutions

Operational Quality Assurance Testing for internally developed software, hardware, operating systems and support utilities
Qualifications:
-
Proven experience in quality assurance
-
Proven experience in hardware testing and integration
-
Proven experience in operational and deployment support
-
Experience mentoring/developing junior technicians
-
Experience in Cisco Router IOS, Linux, OpenWRT & Microsoft Windows operating systems

Familiar with compliance and network security requirements such as OWASP, PCI, FIM and HIPAA.

Functional knowledge of Software Defined Life Cycle and associated tools such as JIRA, DevOps, GIT and Peer Review methods used in Continuous
Development -
Working knowledge of computer and scripting languages such as C++, JAVA, PHP, PERL, BATCH, PYTHON etc.

The ability to effectively express information verbally and in writing, in a clear and coherent manner

Excellent problematic debugging skills

Minimum of a BSEE/BSCS/equivalent
Desirable Skills:

Experience in Test automation, Agile and Waterfall

Experience with opensource hardware and software

Experience using Apache, Nygnx, Puppet and or Ansible

Knowledge of and ability to analyze network protocols and devices such as RS232, modems HDLC, SDLC/SNA, BISYNC, VISA II, X.25, PPP, TCP/IP, SNMP, SSL/TLS, IPSEC and OpenVPN communication protocols, etc. Cisco and/or Linux Certifications

Prior leadership experience a plus
