Jody showed me how to use the pickle pot the other night and I’m not sure, but it may have been contaminated because it turned my copper a little pink. I’m not sure if it’s just a slightly different Copper color than I expected or if it actually is contaminated. The level is also a bit low (not sure how high it normally is) so it may be a good idea to just clean it out and refill it. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help out too!

Hi, Adam! A pinkish hue is the typical color of copper, once it’s been sitting in the pickle pot & an indicator that it is clean. No need to change out the pickle pot. You can add more distilled water & a scoop of sodium bisulfate to the pickle pot. At the end of the soldering station, under the wooden workbench, there is a large plastic drawer where the distilled water & sodium bisulfate (labeled Pool Spa) are kept. You’ll also find baking soda, should you need more, for neutralizing your pieces when they come out of the pickle. That does tend to dry up quickly. The aqua blue color you may see, in the pickle pot or the container for neutralizing your pieces, is just the copper oxides that have come off from the fire scale.
