I called Purity last week Tuesday (11/5) for a propane delivery. They usually deliver on Wednesdays and haven’t for the past two weeks. After calling them today, the issue is that nobody was there when being delivered and the number they had on file was disconnected.
It’s frustrating, but this means we will not have propane for general use until next week Wednesday. I am going to fill a 20lb bbq tank for How-To Holiday, so the event is covered.
We currently have a small 20lb tank of propane hooked up to the forge that is left over from How-To Holiday.
I’ll post when Purity delivers the rest of the propane.
There is a bottle cage on the loading dock for this very reason. They have delivered to it in the past

I tried looking into bulk propane in the past so that a tanker could just come fill a pig outside, but the bids from mechanical contractors to run the gas pipe inside and drop for the forge were peohibitively expensive
I’ve also been looking into getting at least one 100lb tank. Wouldn’t need a contractor, would be more efficient, and would last for a while
That would at least be an improvement over what is there now
What sort of volume do we go through? Have seen places get picky when they want to cut out a bit of business. Could we go to tanking our tanks someplace to get them filled rather than utilizing delivery?
Maybe that idea was tried in the past with poor performance.
We went through two 40lb and three 20lb tanks in about 3 months.
We used to take them ourselves to get them filled, but switched a while back to this a while back
How serious are you about a 100lb tank? My dad might still have a couple he no longer uses. They will require recertification.
Propane was delivered and we are fully restocked!
@trogo that is very generous! I am serious about getting 2 100lb tanks. One would be used for jewelry and one for ironworks. Purity says they would need to inspect them before commenting further on whether or not they would fill them.
Next time I am there will grab them, will be a couple weeks.
Just looked up the Purity location and they are just south of me, will stop by and see what they say about filling them once they are here.
Did enquire with Lansing Ice and Fuel, there it is $20/tank for certification inspections.
THANK YOU! Purity does recertifications for about the same price, and as that’s who currently fills our tanks, they’d prefer to do it
