Introduction - John from Lowkey Mocap

Hi all,

I’m John A from Lowkey Mocap, been to the makerspace a few times over the years and am joining this month. I’ve done a fair amount of resin 3D printing, and also do photogrammetry and 3D scanning. Also big on miniature painting so looking forward to joining the painting group!

One other thing I’m here to do is gauge interest for our new motion capture membership program, Lowkey Labs. Members will get a basic certification in Motion Capture and have access to do their own shoots for animation projects in the space. We have a 40’ x 45’ capture volume just north of Frandor, and are working on building a community of animators, gamedevs and creative filmmakers in Michigan centered around the most funnest pastime, motion capture.

There are a couple different membership tiers; student, creative, and commercial. Each gets you access to the space for shoots you schedule and manage, as well as a once a month educational primer and an open mocap day where members meet up and talk about their projects or build a team. Members get certified prior to their first shoots, so they can confidently use the capture software and know how to run a mocap shoot and clean the animation data afterwards.

Or come by our first open house on Wednesday, July 8th at 6 pm! If you’re interested, email me at john@lowkeymocap.com for the address and more info.

It was nice talking to you the other day John!
I’m excited about having a motion capture resource in our area.
