Introduction - Daniel Kent

Hi everyone!

My name is Daniel Kent, and I’m a new member courtesy of the CADL group membership. I’m currently a PhD student at Michigan State University and am looking for opportunities to meet new people, and of course make things.

I have some experience with making, including PCB design and assembly (here is an LED controller project I’ve released as an open-source design), and 3D printing (both using and modifying other people’s objects as well as learning CAD for making my own models). Some of my other hobbies include photography, 2D vector design, home automation, and cooking. I’d be happy to share what I know if anyone is interested!

I’m interested in using the space to expand what I’m capable of doing beyond what will fit in my current living space. I’m tentatively interested in woodworking and/or other material cutting to build an enclosure / sturdier table for my 3D printer, as well as exploring some possible FDM to metal fabrication techniques I’ve read about such as Lost PLA.

I’m looking forward to meeting more of you in the near future!

Hey Daniel, welcome to the Makers Network! The open source LED Controller is awesome, and I’m super excited to see what else you make at the space!

I’m sure you’re already well versed in the laser cutter, but if you ever need or want a checkout on the CO2 laser, let me know!

Welcome, Daniel! It was good talking to you yesterday in the break room.

Hi Daniel!

I’d like to pick your brain sometime about PCB design! And mayhap we could share notes on home automation

Welcome to the space!
