It has been set up for a couple months but I am introducing it now that I feel like I’m getting a handle on it-
if you’ve been in the space you’ve seen that the hall is now a gallery, where every month an artist will be invited to hang up art and teach a workshop!
The currently featured artist is Mahbube, and tickets for her eco printing workshop will be for sale soon.
If you want to be in the gallery, there are 2 options-
November will be a members group show to go along with How to Holiday, where all current members will be able to display art that is for sale. I will share information about how to participate in that later this year.
To be a featured artist, email me james@lansingmakersnetwork.org and we can talk about it! If you don’t have a full wall of stuff or don’t want to teach a workshop I will match people up for group shows.
How I am trying to book artists: ideally scheduling 6 months out. With a 50/50 mix of members and people from the community.
I’d like to try and have an artist that uses a medium related to each of the areas every year, wood/metal/textiles ect. So we have a variety of things to look at and workshops.
The next month that is open is December, and I’d really like to have someone who does small metal smithing/jewelry or glass.
(This one is me)
