How to plane wide wood slabs?

Is there a router sled in the woodshop area? What other ways/tools might I use to level live edge wood slabs that are too wide for the planer? I’ve looked online and mostly what I see are videos of people building router sleds for this purpose.

PS - I’m a new member and just learning how things work at LMN. I am not an experienced woodworker in any way, shape or form. But I am eager to learn.

The woodshop CNC has been used successfully by members to level live edge wood slabs. The woodshop planer can handle slabs up to about 15" across, the CNC can surface areas as large as a 4x8 sheet of plywood.

Thanks. I would have to get checked out on that. I’ve never used one.
