Glass Fusing Kiln?

Do we have a glass fusing kiln (or any kiln) at LMN? If not, is there a process for requesting new equipment, especially if I’m willing to write grants to acquire said equipment?

We have a kiln that can work for glass fusing, I think @jody and @Heather are working on the SOP

Hello! We have 2 kilns. One is specifically a small glass kiln for fusing & bead annealing. I think the analog pyrometer isn’t working correctly. I need to test it & will try to do so this Wednesday. We also have a burnout kiln for casting, heat treating & enameling. Jody & I worked on the SOP for that kiln. I’ll need to get back to you on when we can do checkouts for it.

As far as tool requests & grant writing go, please talk w/ @Lex & @Lysne_Tait.

My apologies…I became focused on the grants part of your question. I am the person to talk w/ & approve adding tools to the Metalsmithing area. It’s more than just having the funds to add any tool to any area; especially, larger tools. Would you mind sharing more w/ me on what kind of glass fusing kiln you have in mind?

Thank you for all the info, this is helpful! I am thinking of small glass fusing projects + stained glass enameling with vitreous paints. It sounds like we already have the supplies to do that, I’m flexible with checkouts because I won’t need it for a while.
