1.If we wanted to do a crowdsourcing campaign to raise some funds could we do that?
2. If allowed who would be responsible to kick that off?
3. could someone with permission just do that?
4. If I wanted to do that and say something like “help save my local maker space”. and I donate the money raised could I do that?
- I don’t see why not. Is there a platform that you were thinking of?
2&3&4. I believe that @brian.adams would need to give the thumbs up on something like this.
Overall we accept public donations of any amount at our paypal at Donate – Lansing Makers Network
I was thinking of hitting several except gofindme. There you need a an all or nothing campaign. More exposure the better

@brian.adams @BoardMembers for members interested in fundraising like @seabrig29, what kind of info would you all need in a proposal?
If I were going to make a stab at it from my uninformed end, I’d probably guess something like:
- location, time, any associated org(s)
- proposed promotional images/title to use
- description + price of item(s) being sold
So, for example:
- [some list of members] want to operate a booth at the Such-and-so Township Craft Fair, X day at Y time and donate the proceeds to the space
- the title we intend to apply for a booth under is “Member fundraiser for Lansing Makers Network”, we’ll bring a stack of LMN posters and set up a sign saying “All proceeds go to Lansing Makers Network operating costs”
- We plan to sell quilted catnip toys $10 and laser cut kits for building little boxes for $20 (with pictures attached)
If someone sent you that proposal, what additional information would you need to make a call? Is there information in it that isn’t actually useful for you?
