Filament Poop from 3D Printer

With the Bambu X1C Printer I have, a component is the AMS (automatically switching colors mid print). When using the printer with all four colors, I easily fill half of a box with purged filament or filament poop.

What does LMN do with the poop from their printer(s)?

It feels like a waste to just throw all this away. Recently been looking online for options but I only found expensive options ($200 used, $1500-$4000 used).

Howdy,

There are ways of filament recycling ( material depending). Some places charge for it some return recyled filament to you based on how much you send. It is possible to cast certain filaments in silicon molds. Another post mentioned the creative heart warrior who will recycle donated PLA filament scraps which at the moment seems like the best idea. when I am in next I will be setting up a PLA scrap filament box.

I hope this helps.

Hello Leif,

Thank you for sharing!

Based on what I’m reading, the Creative Heart Warrior might be a no go option for me; more details in the other post.

Sounds good, thank you!
Kind Regards,
