Hello! I am interested in getting my feet wet with electronics, specifically soldering and de-soldering. I was curious if I could get authorized on some of the electronics area equipment. I also spoke with @Tony at the Makerspace yesterday and it sounded like he was interested in tagging along for such a lesson. @RealCarlRaymond (or anyone else capable of showing us the ropes), can we schedule a time to learn the basics on some of these tools? I’m not in a hurry, so it doesn’t need to be right away.
Once I am somewhat comfortable with the soldering iron I’d like to do some kind of practice project as well. I would be more than happy to purchase something to practice on or compensate the Makerspace for some kind of practice board.
Welcome, Deland,
I’m happy to get you going in Electronics. How about Thursday evening at 7:00pm. I can give you the introduction to the area, and you can do some practice soldering.
We do need to schedule a kit building class soon. We haven’t done one for a while.

Holy moly, I totally forgot when I wrote my first post, my sister is getting married on Friday and Thursday will be her rehearsal dinner. Maybe we can do something the following week?
Just wanted to reiterate I wont be able to make it this Thursday. Just don’t want you to show up waiting for me
Sounds like you have something a little more important! No trouble. We can do it next week.

So, are you available this coming Thursday (August 20) at 7 pm? Same bat time, same bat channel? Just 1 week later?
If so, I’ll be there!!
