Does anyone have any experience making something like this on the CNC?
I have done some 3d CNC stuff. How big did you want to go with that? It takes a while but totally doable . Let me know when and I would be happy to give you a hand with that. I did this in foam .
Oh! Perfect! I’d like to do a larger one (36x48 or so) but will probably do some smaller ones with different species to see what looks/carves best. What software did you use to map the z-dimensions of your project?
I used Vectric Aspire which is similar to V-carve which the space has on their computer. Do you have that file for the waves and ripples? If your going to be in tomorrow I can bring my laptop and I will show you how you create the tool paths. I think V-carve works the same way but I’m not 100% sure.
I haven’t been able to make it in for a checkout on the CNC yet, so I’ll get back to you! I won’t be in the space this weekend- but next weekend I will be.
