Checkout Training for Textiles/Woodshop

Good evening,
I’m Aspen and I’ve been wanting to become a member for a long time. When taking the tour, it was recommended I get the checkout training necessary first so I could participate.

I have experience sewing with a sewing machine, but need to have the checkout training done anyway, so I would like to get checkout trained on all machines available in the Textiles room.

I’m intending to get into some woodworking for the historical reenactments I participate in, but I’m unsure what all I need to be checkout trained on. Probably planer, table saw, and circular saw first.

I apologize for the long intro, just making sure I’m covering my bases.

Hi Aspen! I’m Adam, @JamesFriend can get you checked out on tools in the textiles area. @RealCarlRaymond should be able to give checkouts on woodshop tools.

Hi,
I’m giving a checkout tomorrow on the long arm quilting machine you can join in on if you’re free, and the overseam machine is a very quick checkout.

The only other machine that needs a checkout currently is the rug tufting gun, I won’t have time tomorrow to do that one but can possibly come in Sunday

Aspen, Carl can do the wood shop checkouts if you’re in a hurry, and you and he can agree on a good time. Otherwise, I can do them when I return. I should be back by feb 24-25. I am in the space most thursday evenings from about 5-8 pm for checkouts - no appointment needed then.

Hi James,
Unfortunately due to my work schedule, I’m only available Thursdays and Sundays, though I am working an extra day on Sunday. Would you possibly be available next Thursday for the checkout? I apologize for my availability.

Hi Tony,
No, I’m not in a hurry to learn the woodshop tools, add I have a couple large sewing projects to handle first. I will get back with you when you are back on a Thursday. Thank you.

See you then.
