BOW Sunday 28th September event

Hello BOW members,

A couple of updates for you all:

This Sunday (9/28), BOW will be demonstrating at the Woldumar Nature Center from 1 pm to 4 pm for the anniversary of the Moon Cabin relocation. I will be there, and I have one other person who is planning on attending to help demonstrate. If you’re interested in demonstrating (or watching/helping out), please feel free to reply to this email or call or text me.

Dan Taylor is one of the members of this email group. He let me know that he has some blacksmithing items he is looking to get rid of/sell. If you have any interest in any of the items, please contact Dan: djtaylor4140@gmail.com
I may coordinate some of the free items to be available at a future meeting, just FYI.

Items:

  • Four large crates of good firebrick - free
  • A roll of old Kaowool - free
  • Large bag of vermiculite - free
  • MABA Toolbox - free
  • All of Steve Allings “The Works” on CDs - free
  • Peter Wright Anvil
  • Hardy Hole Cone Mandrel
  • Swage Block
  • Old tongs
  • Various Hammers
  • Chisels
  • Chicago “Hossfeld” Bender
  • Scrolling Jigs
  • Large Assorted supply of Steel

Reminder:

SOFA Quadstate is happening September 26th and 27th. This is the largest Blacksmithing Conference in the nation. It is well worth the drive and the cost to attend. I highly encourage going if you are looking for any blacksmithing supplies or if you want to watch some world-class Blacksmiths demonstrate their skills and share their knowledge. https://sofablacksmiths.org/quadstate/

I am also looking for demonstrators for the upcoming meetings. Let me know if you are interested.

Grace and peace,

  • Matthew Mason
