Hello! We’re hosting an in-person board meeting next Wednesday (Oct 2) at 7:00 pm and you’re welcome to join! We have a special portion dedicated to member-led discourse where you can chat with the broad, share ideas, raise concerns, and ask questions. Come on down!
If you’re unable to join and would like to bring anything up, drop a comment on this post and I’ll both bring it up for you and follow up with you afterwards.
From the meeting minutes, it sounds like the best case is that the books and space are in a state of disarray - worst case is that the space is closing and there may be lawsuits. The board met October 2nd and it is October 13th - deep inside the board meeting minutes is the bad news with no statement coming out with the bad news as promised. That’s a week and a half. The accountant, please read that as bookkeeper, hasn’t been doing their job. I’ve seen disarray like this before, had a box of receipts and tax forms handed to me, and I threw it back and informed them they needed a CPA. I used to work for the Michigan Association of CPAs and tell you as much (don’t look to me, I engineered webinars and duplicated created educational materials, I am not a CPA).
