Bike rack bonanza

We’ve earned a grant to put a bike repair station, pump, bike racks, and picnic tables out front!!

Pretty please, I need help with several stages:

(Weather permitting)

  • receiving the concrete delivery at LMN (6/30)
  • digging and framing concrete pad (7/1)
-please bring in your own shovel
  • picking up concrete mixer rental from Menards(7/2)
  • pouring concrete (7/2)
  • returning concrete mixer (7/2)

(Dates tbd)

  • Removing concrete frame
  • Installing bike repair station and pump
  • Picking up picnic table materials (truck required)
  • Cutting up picnic table materials
  • Building picnic tables
  • Whatever I forgot

Please reply here with what stage you wish to help with
Pizza will be provided digging and pouring concrete. Please let me know if dietary restrictions

Can I ask what size the concrete slab will be? And are we adding any crushed gravel or other material to compact and use as a base for the concrete?

Currently doing the math, and layout requirements for the repair station and bike rack

I requested 19 60# bags of concrete in the original green, plus a mixer rental, and the slab should be at least 3" thick
So, 12 ish square feet max size, probably smaller

I have some pea gravel I was thinking about using

I’m in for all of it!

Also sand and rebar?

I can help. I have poured cement before. 12-ish square feet, so 2x6, maybe? That’s a good shape for easy finishing. It’s a short reach with a trowel.

BTW - do we have trowels? If not - who can bring some?
