Bandsaw blade broke and needs replacement.

Please remember that VOLUNTEERS will be helping to resolve this issue. While everyone works very hard to fix things quickly, sometimes things take time. Please consider Volunteering to help keep everything working well in our makerspace!

I will be in tomorrow to replace it. Do you know what size blade it was?

EDIT - I will be in SUNDAY to replace this. Please use the other bandsaw for the time being.

Please tell me what you can about how this happened. Did you try to cut a tight corner, for example? What kind of material were you cutting? How thick was it?

I was working the front desk when someone informed me of the situation. Jen Nelson was using the band saw. It’s a 3/16 in blade, 6 teeth per inch.

Hi Tony! It happened as I was finishing a straight relief cut in my project. The blade broke as I was moving it back out of the cut (the cut itself was only about an inch, inch and a half into the wood). The piece of wood was a walnut chunk, approx 3-ish inches thick. Not enitrely sure why it broke, my guess is I either was moving the wood back too quick or had turned it slightly when backing the blade out

OK, thanks for the update.
