Art I made at LMN new gallery show + pics from last show

Hi!
I made part of a large installation using the laser cutter at LMN, it was in a show at UofM flint this summer and is going up in hamtramack for this month with an opening reception tomorrow.

And the other two parts are embroidered and ceramics

James, this is amazing!!

James, how many hours did it take you to embroider the canvas? It’s wonderfully done…deep & raw! It gave me chills as I was reading some of the symptoms.

I’m curious about your hanging installation. What medium is it done in, glass or some sort of plastic?

It’s acrylic that I cut on the laser cutter, peeling the masking was the most time consuming part of the whole thing

The embroidery took 8 months from start to finish but I wasn’t working on it steadily

Thank you for the closeup. I see now that they have a pill/medication type shape to them & how all your pieces fit together. (Not that they needed to!) It’s a powerful theme that speaks to many. Thank you for sharing!
