Has anyone had success getting smooth polished edges on the red and black laser?
I was cutting 1/8" cast acrylic the other day and I tested every possible setting combination I could do including a full material test grid in Lightburn. It cut just fine at almost every setting but the edges were not smooth no matter what I tried.
Has anyone had success with this? If so, could you give me some guidance?
I’m perfectly willing to accept that it might be the acrylic, but I’d still appreciate your wisdom while I get some better material.
I think it’s just a bit wiggly and acrylic shows it off really well. I’ve had slightly more luck by having the laser a tiny bit higher than focused, and using rdworks instead of light burn, that might be just because I know how to use rd works better to make sure my curves are one line though. Sometimes lightburn imports my line work as hundreds of tiny lines instead of a solid curve for some reason and that makes the cut jittery
So is it just curves that are the problem? Or are straight lines also not great? Sounds like I need to get checked out on the Trotec then, I was planning to do some acrylic work soon
