Safety Reminder

The compound miter saw was not bolted down in the back. At some point the power cable for the motor lodged itself underneath the back end of the base, preventing the saw from sliding back into place.

I just had a scary moment where the exposed blade kicked itself upwards to compensate for the tension that the taut power cable created as I pushed the saw through a 10" piece.

I’m fine because my board was clamped and safety goggles were on. Power tools can be scary even when you do everything “correctly”.

I bolted down the back end. Reminder to make sure the tool you are using is in good condition before operating!
