Do you have a 3D printer and would you be willing to help?

Hey you 3D printer people. We need some help printing switches for the Adaptathon next week. If you’ve got time to print before this Thursday, reach out and we’ll get you the files.

The Adaptathon is a collaboration with the Michigan Adaptive Technology program. We’ll be disassembling toys and gifts and reassembling with adaptive switches for disabled folks here in Michigan. You can read more about it here: https://shor.by/MATP

Yes to both. Send me the files and I will see what I can get done by Thurs.

Talksite doesn’t like the file format. Emailing you directly!

I’d be happy to pitch in some print time if you still need more.

These take a long time to print. My slicer says around 20 hours for all parts of the 4" switch and about 8 hours for the 2" one. I will not be able to get many done by Thursday, probably not more than two of each if nothing goes wrong. We need more help!

Excellent! I’ll email you the files directly.

Seconding Jerry’s comments; we need way more capacity. I’ve got modern hardware with input shaping etc., and I’m still seeing 5-6 hours per full set.

Lex, how flexible is that Thursday deadline, with the event next week? And what’s the upper limit for how many would be useful?

Edit: also, where are we dropping these off?

We have many more people than just this thread doing printing, so we should be just fine with 2 apiece. Thanks for your help!

They can be dropped off at the front desk, I’ll make sure there is a marked box.
